The Cattery
The cattery is our feature building here at Grindelwald Kennels and Cattery, as it is the
first building you see when you arrive. You will usually be greeted by many curious faces.
These are semi enclosed facilities, allowing fresh air and sunlight,
while still protecting your cats from the elements.
The cattery is comprised of 33 cat kennels. There are 27 "single" kennels each
measuring 3' wide (950mm) by 6' high (1800mm) by 6' deep (1800mm),. There are also 6 "double" kennels that are larger and can comfortably accommodate two or three cats from the same family sharing together.
For the ultimate in kitty indulgence we also have three extra large deluxe kennels which are 3' wide (950mm) by 6' high (1800mm) and 12' deep (3600mm) These kennels allow the cat to see out both sides of our facility, get the sun all day and enjoy the luxury of swings, pillows and lots of play things.
Each kennel has its own sleeping
enclosure, an insulated drum measuring 590mm long and 400 mm in diametre. This offers your
cat a very warm, snug and protected place to sleep.
Each cat kennel also has a large scratching post to keep the cats entertained during their stay.
For kennels where there are two cats
sharing, we are able to place and extra bed. Each kennel also has its own individual
litter tray, which is cleaned twice daily.
The kennels themselves are individually
locked and have solid concrete floors and concrete brick walls up to a height of 300. The
remainder of wall is colourbond sheeting and steel mesh. This ensures that there is no physical
contact between your cat and another. At Grindelwald Kennels and Cattery we make the
safety of your animal a priority. This also allows for extremely effective cleaning of the
cat kennels.
